Playing Catch up

I tried to catch up on all that has been happening since December. So, I apologize for lengthy blogs since I have added 4 new posts.

VERY LATE Christmas Post

This is not a very clear picture in our sanctuary taken at the dress rehearsal for the East Alabama Christmas Concert Brett put on at FBC Opelika.

Barbara and Gene came to Opelika for the Concert.
Visiting Daddy at Work. She usually does not make it long in Daddy's arms as the Church ladies will carry her around the office and talk to her.
Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus in downtown Opelika

Bumbo Time! Kenadie enjoys sitting in her Bumbo. She was laughing at her daddy in this picture.
Christmas Eve... An attempt at a smiling picture.
Our attempt at getting a picture sitting up AND smiling in her Christmas dress Aunt Jan the "Duchess" sent her quickly turned into this...
Her Christmas PJ's They say My First Christmas! We called this her lounge wear because they were a little too big for her to sleep in. She was still in Newborn clothes at this time.
Smiling for the camera!
Spending time with Nana B
Brett's parents came and spent several days with us at Christmas! We enjoyed having them visit and even taking us to Callaway Gardens in Georgia for the fantasy Lights tour. It was fun even though we could not ride the trolley because of rain and Kenadie. Kenadie enjoyed all the bright colored presents that were wrapped up for her from them!

Snow Day!!! (Kind of)

Our Youth minister at FBC Opelika built a snow gun...a what?? He researched and built a snow gun out of piping and metal "things". The Snow Gun he built actually produced snow! He spent days blowing snow all over his back yard creating a winter wonderland for his boys. We had so much fun going and playing in the snow. The day we went they only had one sled run and 18 inches of snow, by the next day they had three sled runs built and tons of snow.

This is a picture with the snow blowing. He turned the machine off for a little while because we had Kenadie and our friends the Tinsley girls with us.
Cathy, Kenadie in her snow suit and Bailey Tinsley
She looks like the kid off a Christmas story that fell over in the snow... Don't worry she was only down for a second and she actually was hot in her cozy snow suit.

Bailey carrying her "sled" back up for another turn. Notice the neighbors yard with grass and No snow.

Me before I wiped out when I hit the grass.

Brett trying the sled run out.
He was better at not falling over when he hit the grass. The next day this whole are was ALL covered in snow!

Random Pictures

Kenadie and Daddy watching football in between church services on Sunday.

Her sweet little KFC monogram on her bloomers...check out her skinny little legs!
This was after church her first day to go and be in the nursery. She made lots of new friends and quickly found favor with Ms Linda who apparently rocked her the entire time she was in the nursery.

This purple dress was made by one of Brett's choir members for Kenadie. Isn't she adorable??
Kenadie in her Rock Star shirt. Thanks Missy for the fun shirt!
Naked Baby...
This is one of her favorite positions to sleep in. Brett says she is just praying.

Trip to Abilene 12-28-2008

The day after we drove to TX we got up WAY TOO EARLY and got back on the road with my parents to go to Abilene for the day. We went to introduce Kenadie to her Great Grandmothers and relatives.

Kenadie was so good on the ride there seeing how she had been in the car for 12 hrs the day before. Here is a picture of Me and Kenadie with my Mom and Grandmoma. There was too much going on at Aunt Carol's house for Kenadie to stay calm and smile!

Brett showing his excitement...Being an only child he was not used to having a large extended family around for the holidays, so this was all new to him.

We enjoyed our visit to Abilene and it was so nice to see all the Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. We can not wait to came for another visit. Thank you Aunt Carol for opening your home to us and having a nice Christmas Lunch prepared for us.

Trip to Texas 12-27 thru 1-3-09

We loaded up the car the saturday after Christmas and headed to TX! Thats right 2 adults, 2 dogs and and infant! Our SUV was packed full, we did not realize how much stuff we would need to travel with a baby. We had so much fun on our trip getting to see friends and family.

Here is Kenadie snoozing with her PaPa.

Kenadie had was so excited to meet her "Aunt Laura" (One of Cathy's closest friends) for lunch at La Madeline.

GiGi gave Kenadie a bath using the Cubby Tub in her sink. GiGi thought Kenadie was having a great time in the bath till she realized this big smile is because she was pooping in the sink..The Cubby Tub sponge quickly got thrown away and the sink was cleaned. Thanks Mom for bathing her twice that night:)

Kenadie and Cousin Rhodes entertaining themselves on her activity mat.

This was one of Rhodes favorite positions, in his bouncy seat sucking his fingers..check out his manly camo pants!
